Agile is a game-changer in making amazing products and services that help both people and the environment. It's a way to take on the complex challenges of today, without feeling overwhelmed, thanks to its iterative approach.

What I truly love about my job is empowering people to work together as a team, by means of impactful questions, facilitation, mentoring, coaching and creating Aha moments, and unlock their Agile mindset to create meaningful results.

A typical working week in my life

On Mondays, I do a personal check-in to the week, plan a main objective and review meetings of the week, before I do a check-in with the team.

Working remotely, conversation, meetings and interaction are the fundamentals of my coaching. I address what I observe when it comes to agile antipatterns. “Take it back to the team” is my guiding principle - as the people closest to the problem are the best to solve it.

In individual coachings and conversations, this is anyways my credo: I sometimes let people talk and just listen, cause they’ll find the solutions by themselves. Asking impactful questions is the best I can do to support them.

Learning and exchange is an integral part of my role. At least once in a week I get in a conversation with other Coaches or Scrum Masters.

Pitches about agile principles, roles and approaches are my daily contribution to a team’s growth in agile. They perfectly match team’s agile learning journeys that I prepare and plan carefully. My agile toolbox is always with me, holding good ideas, visualizations, agile games, gifs and more.

I’m convinced that remote Agile Coaching only works if people know each other well, and we can’t deny that creating trust and rapport is more difficult than if co-located. My insider tip to compensate this: Pick up the phone!

On Fridays, I do a check-out, including introspection, reflecting situations and how I can improve as an Agile Coach.
